The free summit will bring together community leaders, healthcare professionals, faith leaders, educators, advocates, service organizations and residents to discuss ways to improve access to mental health care and strengthen connections to community resources.

Addressing mental and emotional health needs at the community level often requires overcoming barriers to care while strengthening the relationships and resources that already exist. The summit will explore how healthcare systems, social service organizations, faith communities and other local partners can work together to better support children, individuals and families.

Special attention will be given to populations that may face additional challenges accessing services, including older adults, people experiencing homelessness, and disadvantaged racial and ethnic communities.

The summit is being presented by Living Waters Inc in collaborative partnership with Commissioner Tracy Mattison Brandon, Arms Wide Open Ministries, International, and the Ada Jenkins Center.

Building Stronger Community Connections

The 2026 Mental Health Summit will focus on practical strategies for improving coordination and access to care throughout Davidson and surrounding communities.

Topics and objectives will include:

• Strengthening collaboration among healthcare systems, social services and faith-based communities
• Improving connections and referral processes between community programs and mental health providers
• Supporting resilience and healing for individuals and families experiencing mental and emotional health challenges
• Exploring barriers to mental health care among religious and cultural communities
• Creating stronger community partnerships to help people locate and access appropriate services

The summit will feature expert speakers, lived-experience speakers, interactive table sessions, a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided.
