CHARLOTTE, N.C. – July 5, 2024 – PRLog — In honor of Black, Indigenous, and people of color
(BIPOC ) Mental Health Awareness Month, Living Waters Inc will collaborate with Empower Your Life
Services to host Domestic violence and Mental Health: Impact on Children and Families. It is an
important dialogue that will convene social workers, counselors, researchers, justice-involved professionals,
community and faith leaders, and other stakeholders from child and family servicing organizations to
explore the intersection of domestic violence and mental health and its profound impacts on children and
families.
Domestic violence leaves lasting scars on the mental health of children and families, especially within
BIPOC communities,” said Joan Been, President and CEO of Living Waters Inc. “This event is an essential
step toward understanding these impacts and working collaboratively to support healing and resilience. We
invite all stakeholders to join us.

families regarding mental health impacts.
2. Provide a forum to discuss and explore current approaches and supportive interventions.
