Samuel J. Pullen, DO
Dr. Samuel Pullen currently serves as the System Physician Executive for the Psychiatry and Mental Health Institute at Novant Health and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. He is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of Rural Mental Health. His areas of professional interest include community, rural, and global mental healthcare, integrated care, health system, economic, and social determinant factors that are interconnected with access to healthcare in communities and neighborhoods.
Dr. Pullen received his medical degree and Masters in Biomedical Sciences from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed General Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He received a Masters in Public Health and Certificate in Global Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a candidate for the LEAD Business Program specializing in Corporate Innovation & Leadership at Stanford Graduate School of Business (anticipated graduation in September 2023).
