Rev. Angela D. Brown
Rev. Angela Brown was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. She attended St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC, with a concentration of studies in both Chemistry and Business Management. Rev. Angela Brown is an ordained minister of twenty-two years in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church; and is currently serving as the Pastor of ShouseTrueVine CME Church, in Winston-Salem, NC. She is also the Madam Secretary of the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity.
Rev. Brown has served faithfully for twenty-three years at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She served eighteen years as a Senior Physical and Occupational Therapist Aide and the past five years as the Community Health Coordinator in the FaithHealth Division. She was recently promoted to her current role as Program Coordinator in the FaithHealth Division. On a daily basis, Rev. Brown engages with the social determinates of health for persons who live in communities that have the highest Charity Care rate, highest Emergency department visits, lowest income rate and minimum access to Health Care services. Rev. Brown also has a strong ability to connect with ministries and support systems offered by communities of faith, other nonprofit organizations and businesses.
By understanding the needs of the community to help improve health outcomes and decrease health disparities, Rev. Brown’s mission is to stand in the gap and serve as a link between the people of the community and the health care system, public health services, behavioral health services, social services, housing and other community resources.
