Christine Zazzaro, M.Ed, LCMHC

Christine Zazzaro is the Vice President and Facility Executive of Behavioral Health Charlotte (BHC). She is responsible for the strategic planning and expansion of Atrium Health’s largest Behavioral Health campus which consists of a 66-bed hospital, the region’s only psychiatric emergency room, and over 10 outpatient programs to serve the greater Charlotte Region’s behavioral health needs. Before becoming the Facility Executive for BHC, she created and grew innovative programs to expand access to care for underserved areas in our state. Under her direction, these programs grew to provide virtual consultations for patients in 23 Acute Care Emergency Rooms and multiple inpatient units as well as broadening the scope of virtual psychiatric care to include centralized patient placement, virtual patient navigation, and private, secure transportation for behavioral health patients who need hospitalization. She has worked in the fields of Mental Health and Substance Use for over 30 years.

Christine received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina.  She is also on the Executive Board of Directors for NAMI Charlotte.
