Rev. John Burton Jr.

Rev. Burton is a Youth & Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church-West where he was ordained by the United Missionary Baptist Association. He is a licensed minister of the gospel. He is also a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) cohort at Atrium Psychiatric & Behavioral Health in Davidson, NC.

Rev. Burton serves as the Principal/Chief Consultant of The Burton Group PR providing comprehensive marketing, public relations, and event consulting for companies such as Gordon Food Service, The Inspiration Network, TD Jakes Ministries, and Wells Fargo National Bank. He is also a contributing writer for LifeWay Christian Books and Urban Ministries Inc.

Rev. Burton earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Radio & Television from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in communications from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has been named one of the nation’s Legacy Makers by 1865 Company, Who’s Who in Black Charlotte, the coveted IT List by SouthPark Magazine, and one of the 40 Outstanding Alumni Under 40 at Winston-Salem State University. With a passion for community, Rev. Burton has served as an Assistant Chaplain for the Los Angeles Clippers Basketball Team while in Los Angeles, a Marketplace Chaplains, and is a board member of the Charlotte MLK Holiday Celebration Committee and Sharon Towers Inc.
